We built this for Rosie
Gray Muzzle was born from the helplessness of watching a beloved senior dog decline β and the determination to make sure other pet parents never feel that alone again.
Our Mission
βTo give every senior pet the quality of life they deserve, through education, community, and products that actually work.β
When James Whitfield's Labrador, Rosie, was diagnosed with degenerative joint disease at age 10, he spent weeks parsing contradictory advice from blog posts, forums, and well-meaning friends. He wanted to do everything right β but finding trustworthy information felt impossible.
Gray Muzzle is the resource he wished had existed. It's a weekly newsletter that brings together veterinary science, supplement research, and real-world care advice β delivered in plain, compassionate English.
Today, over 12,000 pet parents trust Gray Muzzle to help them give their aging dogs and cats the golden years they deserve.

What We Stand For
Our values
Evidence First
We cite our sources. Every recommendation we make is grounded in peer-reviewed research, not tradition or trend.
Pets Over Profit
We only recommend products we'd give our own pets. If the evidence doesn't support it, we don't feature it β regardless of margin.
Plain Language
Veterinary science shouldn't require a vet degree to understand. We translate every study into language any pet parent can act on.
Community-Driven
Gray Muzzle is built by pet parents, for pet parents. The community shapes what we cover, test, and build next.
